Staten Island Ferry – Free Manhattan to Staten Island Ferry

Staten Island Ferry 1The free 24-hour Staten Island Ferry is considered by many New Yorkers as a lifeline for making their way from NYC’s southernmost borough, but it also has some of the finest views in the world. From the ferry, you can see the Governors Island to the east and Ellis Island and Lady Liberty to the west, as the Manhattan skyline recedes in the vessel’s wake. Sounds like something that is definitely worth the price of admission, lol

Phoenix, Arizona – Free Things to do in the Valley of the Sun

Phoenix 1In February 2019 I spent a few days in Phoenix Arizona to attend a few spring training games. While preparing for my trip, I did some research and shared some of the best attractions in Phoenix. While I was thrilled to be able to see several museums such as the Arizona Science Center, Heard Museum, and the Phoenix Art Museum, I was also trying to stay on a budget. With that in mind, I was also looking for some free things to do. Luckily I have found quite a few free things to do in Phoenix. Some of the activities or attractions are inside and some are outside. Obviously, the group you are with, and the time of year will play a factor in what you can see and do. Continue reading “Phoenix, Arizona – Free Things to do in the Valley of the Sun”

Prague, Czech Republic – My Top 7 Free Things on Our to-do List

Prague - City1In May of 2018, we were spending a couple of weeks in Europe for our 20th anniversary.  While we were looking forward to spending a week in Germany, and part of a week in Vienna, one of the places I was really looking forward to spending a few days in was Prague. This city looks so amazing and interesting. I couldn’t wait to explore it. As with the other cities, we have a few things planned but also wanted to mix in a few free things while in the area. Thus I eagerly did some research and found quite a few free things. Thus I decided to share with all of you in case you are planning your own trip to Prague. Here is the list of my top 7 free things we hope to do on our trip (in no particular order). I will also let you know which places we visited and share a little about our experience while visiting. Daytona Beach Florida Memories and 7 FREE Things to Do

Daytona Beach 2In June of 2018, we were in Florida for the LWMS Convention in Orlando. We went out a few days early and spent 4 nights in  Daytona Beach. It was amazing, and we had a great time. We were able to tour the Casements and Rockefeller Gardens, Daytona International Speedway, Angell and Phelps Chocolate Factory,  as well as Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens. However, the highlight of course was the amazing Daytona Beach. I want to share some history of Daytona as well as some of our Daytona Beach Photos and a short video. The Casements & Rockefeller Gardens – Ormond Beach, Florida

Casements FrontWe recently returned from a trip to the hot and humid state of Florida. It was June of 2017 and way too muggy for me, lol. Other than that, we had a really nice time, especially in the Daytona area. One day while in Ormond Beach checking out the Ormond Memorial Art and Gardens, we were able to do a tour of The Casements and Gardens. Sadly I admit that I had not heard of this place until doing research for our trip, however, I am so glad we visited it while in the area in June of 2017. M&M’s World Times Square – Manhattan, New York

M&M’s World - CandiesI love sharing stories and pictures from our travels. It helps remind me the feelings I felt while there, and I get to share our experience with other travelers or those wanting to travel. One such place I enjoyed Christmas in 2018 was visiting the M&M’s World Store in Times Square.  We had been in the area on a previous trip but never made it into the store.  We were too busy visiting the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty, lol.  So glad we did on our last trip. It was fantastic and so exciting to share our visit on my blog.
