The Musée d’Orsay Museum – 19th Century Art, Paris

Musée d’Orsay - BldgWe have traveled quite a bit since we got married, but there is one place that grabbed a hold of me and makes me want to go back trip after trip. I am talking about Paris and the city of lights. One of the things I enjoyed seeing the most amazing collections of impressionist and post-impressionist art in the world. While the Louvre is amazing, there is one place I enjoyed more, The Musée d’Orsay.  I fell in love with this museum. Continue reading “The Musée d’Orsay Museum – 19th Century Art, Paris”

Hyatt Resorts – Hyatt Regency in Denver, CO

Hyatt Regency - FrontA few years ago we joined the Hyatt Reward program, and this year we decided to use some of our free nights. We also stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Denver while celebrating New Year’s Eve.  In actuality, we have stayed at three different properties since we joined their program and found each one wonderful and quite unique. Hope you enjoy learning more about each of these hotels in the coming weeks. I am starting this series with our latest stay at the Hyatt Regency in Denver.

I will share our visit in a minute, but for those who haven’t been, or don’t know much about the River Walk, here is a little bit of history and information.  Continue reading “The River Walk – A Must See Attraction in San Antonio, Texas”

Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Maryland – Home to the Baltimore Orioles

Oriole Park - Orioles LogoAwhile back I did a post about Angels Stadium and the Anaheim Angels. In that post I stated I was going to do a post about some of the other ballparks I have been to and talk about the home team. While originally writing this, the Angels were playing the Baltimore Orioles, thus I decided to share my visit to their home park called Oriole Park of Camden Yards. Open Air Market – Phoenix Public Market in Arizona

Open Air Market - 1In March of 2017, my niece Alex and I spent a few days together in Phoenix. We enjoyed visiting the OdySea Aquarium and checking out some of South Mountain Park. We also enjoyed a great meal at Comedor Guadalajara. However, our trip wouldn’t have been complete without a visit to the Phoenix Public Market – aka the Open Air Market. Ayres Natural Bridge Park – Wyoming’s First Tourist Attraction

Ayres Natural Bridge - SignOne of nature’s wonders, Ayres Natural Bridge is one of the few natural bridges in the world that has water flowing under it. We have seen many bridges like the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls, the Skyway Bridge in Sarasota Florida, the Brooklyn Bridge, and Manhattan Bridge in New  York, but never a natural bridge like this one. It was definitely phenomenal. The bridge is part of the Casper Sandstone Formation which was laid down during the Pennsylvanian Age more than 280 million years ago.  Time and water eroded a hole in the rock allowing the stream not known as LaPrele Creek to flow through.

Lego Store in New York, NY – Only the Best is Good Enough

Lego SignOn our recent trip to NYC, we enjoyed checking out the Union Square Holiday Market as well as many famous landmarks. So we had to make sure to go visit the Flatiron Building. While in the area, we saw the Lego store right across the street. My little 5-year-old nephew is obsessed with Lego products, so of course, I had to go in and see what he would like. It was close to Christmas after all, lol

Art Institute Chicago, Illinois – Amazing Impressionist Art

Art Institute Chicago 1As I have shared in a few posts, I really love impressionist art, and Monet is my favorite. I really enjoyed the Muse de Orsay in Paris. So while we were in Chicago in June of 2016, one of the top 5 things I had to do was to explore the Art Institute Chicago.  I had been to Chicago a few years ago, but all the impressionist art was on loan to a museum in Texas. I was disappointed but knew I’d be back and be able to see their collection. Continue reading “Art Institute Chicago, Illinois – Amazing Impressionist Art”

Washington State Capitol in Olympia – The Evergreen State

Washington State Capitol - FrontOn a trip to Seattle in May of 2016 to watch my Angels play the Mariners at Safeco Field, we were able to check one more state capitol off our list, the Washington State Capitol in Olympia! I have seriously lost count, but it was really nice to mark this one off our list 🙂  Even though the capitol building isn’t in Seattle, it was only an hour and ½ away, so we made a day trip out of it.
