On my first trip to Chicago by myself in September 2008 to see the Anaheim Angels play the White Sox and do a tour of Wrigley Field, I played around a little before and after work. One afternoon I was able to do the Shoreline Architecture River cruise in Downtown Chicago. Tours depart from two docks, one at Michigan Avenue and the other at Navy Pier. I was already down by the Navy Pier, so it was easy for me to jump on the tour from that location. Continue reading “Shoreline Architecture River Cruise – Chicago, Illinois”

Cruising – Some of The Best Cruising Options for the 55+ Club
With Spring officially beginning on Sunday, people may be making plans for a spring or summer cruise. Gene and I have only been on one 3-day 2-night cruise once, so we are definitely not seasoned cruisers. However, now that we are both officially in the 55+ club, it may be time to do some cruising. I did some research and there are wide selections of cruises available. Even after doing some research, picking the right one can seem overwhelming and a bit taxing. The RiverWalk and Outlet Collection – New Orleans, Louisiana
We had the most amazing time during our visit to New Orleans in December of 2017. On our first afternoon in the city, we took a trolley down to check out the RiverWalk. While it wasn’t on my post titled 8 Free Things To Do in New Orleans, Louisiana, it is definitely something I am glad we didn’t miss. Not only can you see the beautiful Mississippi River, the amazing Crescent City Connection Bridge (formerly known as the Greater New Orleans Bridge), the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen Ship, as well as the Outlet Collection at Riverwalk Mall. We walked around the mall a little bit, but I was more interested in checking out the River Walk, the river, the ship, and the bridge. There is also a hotel connected to the RiverWalk Outlet Collection called the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. It turned out to be a great place to get a few pictures of us and the bridge. Avalon, Catalina Island in California – Top 7 Things to See and Do
Living in southern California for most of my life, I have spent a few weekends in Avalon, Catalina. It’s only a short 1-hour boat ride from Long Beach, but it seems like a world away. I love that it is so small and everyone gets around on golf carts. It definitely seems like a less stressful life than living in other parts of southern CA. Either way, it is a great place to relax and enjoy some free time.
