Hi there everyone. In a couple of weeks, Gene and I will be heading to Albuquerque so I did some more research on the area and check out some of the things we wanted to do while in New Mexico. We have actually been to Albuquerque quite a few times and have fond memories of the Balloon Fiesta, and our Breaking Bad tour. However, there are always more things to see and do, or explore in a different city. Thus I did some research (so you don’t have to) and found 8 must-see attractions in the area. These are in no particular order.: Continue reading “Albuquerque, New Mexico- 8 Fun Things To Do in Duke City”
As we head into spring and summer most people are now thinking about vacations and where to go. With that in mind, I was inspired by the vacation rental site Tripping.com and want to share the following top 10 friendly dog parks and dog beaches in Florida. After all, Fido wants to join you on your vacation too. I know our dogs Dolly and Belle always love(d) to go and explore new places with us. Below is a picture of them at a local lake here in Colorado. Continue reading “Dog Beaches and Dog Parks in Florida – Bring Fido”
Gene and I were in Buffalo exploring the area and Niagara Falls in October 2021. While in the area, we were happy to be able to do a short beautiful drive about 35 miles southeast of Buffalo and visit Letchworth State Park. Neither of us had heard about this place, but our Airbnb host Joanne told us about it and I can’t thank her enough. It is something we are so glad we were able to visit. The road followed the Genesee River and went through several little towns like Leicester, Mount Morris, Portage, Castile, and Genesee Falls. We did stop in one of these little towns to grab a soda to go along with the lunch we had packed for the day.
While in Amarillo, Texas November of 2020, we decided to take a drive through the Palo Duro Canyon Park. It is not very far from Amarillo, about ½ hour, so definitely something to do while in the area, especially if you have pets and want to explore some nature. It is a huge canyon, apparently the second largest canyon in the US (behind the Grand Canyon of course). Not surprisingly it is often referred to as The Grand Canyon of Texas.
As I stated in a previous post, 8 FREE things to do in St. Louis, we were getting ready to plan a trip to Saint Louis and were looking for a few things to do. It was a road trip, so we were bringing our fur babies with us on our trip. With that in mind, I wanted to find a few free Saint Louis pet-friendly things we could do with them that are also fun and enjoyable for us as well. Here are eight parks and places where they are welcome that seem the most interesting to us. Of course each group and family are different, but I am sure you can find something the whole group will enjoy. Hope you find this list of dog parks, etc helpful. We have had a few fun times exploring Rapid City, South Dakota and the area since living here in CO. Of course we had to do the big attractions like Mount Rushmore, and Crazy Horse, but we also look forward to doing some more historical and local attractions on our next trip in May of 2022. With a budget in mind, I also wanted to do a few free things while in the area. Thus I did some research and found 7 free things around Rapid City that I think would be fun to do. Here is my list (alphabetically): Continue reading “Rapid City, South Dakota – My Top 7 Free Things on Our to-do List”
This time last year we were getting ready to head to Miami Florida for New Year’s 2020/2021. While we were looking forward to visiting some of the local attractions, the one thing I was REALLY looking forward to was the airboat ride through the Everglades. I had seen it so many times on CSI Miami at the beginning and had always wanted to do it. So after we booked our airline tickets, I booked our tour at Sawgrass Recreation Park. It was near the end of our trip and I could hardly wait for our ride, lol.
On our first trip to Moab, Utah we had wanted to do Arches National Park one day, and Canyonlands National Park the next day, however, we quickly realized that wasn’t going to happen as Arches National Park was just too big. We were disappointed with our limited amount of time in Moab, but it did give us a great reason to come back. It was definitely on our must-see list the next time we were in the area. were able to visit on a trip in February of 2021.
In late May of 2021 Gene and I took another road trip to Billings, Montana to see my niece and nephew who had just moved there. We had been before, but there was one thing we hadn’t seen on previous visits was Pictograph Cave State Park which is located about five miles south of Billings.
In June of 2019 we were heading to Omaha for a few days before I continue on to Des Moines, IA for the LWMS convention. We have been through Omaha once before, but never explored the area. We did go to watch an Angels vs Royals AAA affiliate teams play a game at Rosenblatt Stadium before it was torn down to make more room for the zoo. Other than that, it is a new city to us. Thus I decided to do some research and find some fun things to do while we are in the area. While a few charge a small fee, many of them are free. I look forward to our trip and creating posts about our adventures. Continue reading “Omaha, Nebraska – My Top 7 Things on Our to-do List”
