Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure – Juneau, Alaska

Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure - 1One of the fun and exciting things we got to do while in Juneau, Alaska was doing the Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure tour. We were there in July of 2020 and it was so peaceful as there weren’t many tourists yet due to the stupid China virus. But it was so amazing and we were able to see it in its true beauty.   Before I share our tour, I want to share a little about Garden Rainforest Adventure. Jensen-Olsen Arboretum – Juneau, Alaska

alaJensen-Olsen Arboretum 1During July of 2021, we were lucky enough to visit Juneau Alaska for a delayed anniversary trip. Alaska was such a beautiful and amazing experience. I really hope to go back one day and do some more exploring other parts of the state. Juneau was a great place to see on our first visit. One of the places that we really enjoyed seeing, besides Mendenhall Glacier was the Jensen-Olsen Arboretum. I am not sure what I was expecting to see, but it was beyond what I was expecting in so many ways. First a little history about the Jensen-Olsen Arboretum and where it is located.

The Alaska State Capitol in Juneau – The Last Frontier

Alaska State Capitol - BldgWe are still excited every time we get to a new state or new capitol. One of the more recent state capitols we got to see in July of 2020 was the Alaska State Capitol in Juneau. A lot of people have put down the capitol, like the one in Bismarck, ND, but I found it very beautiful. I guess they look at it like any other office building, but as I said, I still liked it. It is unique, and that’s what makes it special.  Another reason is that it doesn’t have a dome like a few other states.

Alabama – Georgia – US States Number 1 Through 10

ALABAMA – GEORGIA

We have traveled a lot throughout the US and have actually been to 41 of the 50 States. Thus I decided to share some information about each state as well as the state road sign. If we didn’t get to a state sign yet (or forgot to get one while we were there), I have posted another picture of a state sign and will replace it once we have pictures. In the meantime, please enjoy the information on the states from Alabama-Georgia.  FYI, these are in alphabetical order.

Mendenhall Glacier and Visitor Center – Juneau, Alaska

Mendenhall Glacier 1Even though our Midwest anniversary road trip had to be canceled (thanks to the selfish Chinese government, NOT) we were able to head to Juneau, Alaska in July of 2020 once things started opening up a little. We had always wanted to Alaska but it was never the right time. I usually don’t like to travel much during the summer months, because it’s too hot and too many people also traveling. However, with all the craziness of 2020, we figured it was the right time. We are so happy we were able to go and see such amazing sites as the Alaska State Capitol, Eagle Beach, the Shrine of St. Therese, Jensen-Olson Arboretum, and Glacier Gardens Rainforest, the place we kept going back to was Mendenhall Glacier. It is absolutely incredible. Continue reading “Mendenhall Glacier and Visitor Center – Juneau, Alaska”
