Bayside Marketplace Entertainment Experience – Miami, Florida

Bayside Marketplace - Sign

For New Year’s Eve of 2020-2021, we were in Miami Florida and had a great time. I will never forget our experience at the Sawgrass Everglades Boat Tour. Truly an amazing experience.  However, one of the places we kept coming back to visit was the Bayside Marketplace. It was a great place to hang out, do a little shopping, people watch, and see the several Christmas trees that were still up. One of them even included an Island Santa, lol. Thought that was really funny but fitting for the area. We enjoyed walking around, grabbing some lunch, and just enjoying the beautiful views of the ocean. Man, I miss that being in a land-locked state.

Pensacola Beach Florida – Things to do Under the Sun

Pensacola TowerIt has been quite cold here in Colorado lately and I am missing the warmth we had while in Miami, Florida this time last year and did the exciting Everglades Airboat Tour. Sadly, we won’t be back in Florida until maybe later this year.  However while talking to a friend about Florida it made me start thinking about a trip to Florida in May of 2011, when we spent time part of a week playing in the Pensacola area.  Unlike Miami, in Pensacola you will find miles of white sand beaches, but they stretch along the Gulf of Mexico. We enjoyed our time swimming and playing in these crystal clear waters.

Sawgrass Recreation Park – Everglades Airboat Tour

Sawgrass Recreation Park - AirboatThis time last year we were getting ready to head to Miami Florida for New Year’s 2020/2021.  While we were looking forward to visiting some of the local attractions, the one thing I was REALLY looking forward to was the airboat ride through the Everglades. I had seen it so many times on CSI Miami at the beginning and had always wanted to do it. So after we booked our airline tickets, I booked our tour at Sawgrass Recreation Park. It was near the end of our trip and I could hardly wait for our ride, lol.

Orlando, Florida and The Magic of Walt Disney World

Orlando 2Orlando is one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world, and one of the biggest attractions of course is Disney World. This is only one reason why thousands of people flock to Orlando yearly. The streets are lined aesthetically with palm, pine, and oak trees. There are also many lakes and parks that add to the beauty of the city. Continue reading “Orlando, Florida and The Magic of Walt Disney World”

St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum – Florida

Augustine Lighthouse 1I have been intrigued by lighthouses for a long time, thus I was very happy to be able to go and see the St. Augustine Lighthouse when we were in Northern Florida in May of 1999.  The St. Augustine Lighthouse is located on the north end of Anastasia Island, was built in 1874, and is the most recent of a number of towers built in the area. It is truly incredible.    Continue reading “St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum – Florida”

Hyatt Resorts – The Hyatt Regency Orlando, Florida

Hyatt Regency Orlando - BldgSince becoming members of the Hyatt Rewards Program we have stayed at many including two of my favorites the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa and the Grand Hyatt here in Colorado. However, each hotel we stay at and visit is just as wonderful as the previous location. The same can be said about our latest excursion to the Hyatt Regency Orlando, in Orlando Florida in June of 2017.   We were in Orlando for the LWMS convention that happened to be held in the convention center connected to the hotel. So not only was the hotel amazing, but it was also quite convenient. Continue reading “Hyatt Resorts – The Hyatt Regency Orlando, Florida”

Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens – Florida

Ormand Memorial Art GardenAs I wrote this in June 2017 we were in Daytona but were getting ready to head south to Orlando. We had a great time exploring the area and doing some of the local activities, including the beach. 🙂  One of the places we visited was the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens.  We had been at The Casements and The Rockefeller Gardens earlier, and it was just a short walk from there. I am so glad we decided to visit. They were absolutely amazing, even if it was incredibly hot and muggy (it is a rainforest after all, lol). The highlights were all the amazing plants and animals we saw while walking around. Continue reading “Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens – Florida”

Daytona International Speedway Tour Experience – Florida

Daytona International Speedway 1While in the Daytona area June of 2017 we were able to visit the famous Daytona International Speedway. It was so cool. I love sports, but car racing is not the first thing I think about. However touring their facility was something I was eager to do. It sounded quite interesting, and we were not disappointed. Well Gene was a little, but I will explain more in a few. Continue reading “Daytona International Speedway Tour Experience – Florida”
