The Prater in Vienna: Austria’s Playground for Everyone

Prater - SignIn May of 2018, we were extremely lucky to spend two weeks exploring a few cities in Europe. One of the cities we visited was Vienna in Austria.  We really enjoyed checking out the Wien Rathaus and the Danube. While there were made a point of checking out Prater Amusement Park. It is an incredible park and home of the iconic Giant Ferris Wheel. It is almost 65 meters tall and offers a breathtaking view of the city on the Danube. Sadly, we didn’t get to take the ride, more on that later, but it was fun watching it in motion and imagining the wonderful views. The Wien Rathaus City Hall in Vienna, Austria is Spectacular

RathausIn May of 2018, we took a two-week trip through Munich, Prague, and Vienna. While many European cities have amazing architecture I really enjoyed our visit to the Wien Rathaus City Hall in Vienna. It was one of the free things I mentioned in my post 7 Free Things to do in Vienna.  It is beautiful and definitely much larger than I envisioned before our visit.  I loved that it was built in gothic style, with a tower similar to gothic cathedrals. Just the tip of the iceberg so to speak, lol Continue reading “The Wien Rathaus City Hall in Vienna, Austria is Spectacular”

SalzburgIn May of 2018, we had a great time on our trip to Munich checking out Hofbrauhaus, Dachau, and the BMW Factory. One day we took a road trip down to Salzburg, Austria. For those you don’t know, Salzburg was the setting for most of the iconic sights from the Sound of Music. It also happens to be the fourth-largest city in Austria and the capital of Salzburg state. But it also happens to be one of the most beautiful places we have visited. The Alps are incredible and different than the Rockies here in Colorado. Since we were so close, we just had to make the trip. Continue reading “Sound of Music Tour in Salzburg, Austria – Historic Sites”

I don’t know if it intrigued me because it was in Europe, or if it was because it flows through more countries than any other river in the world. All I know it that is was unique and I couldn’t wait to see it. Continue reading “Danube River Views in Vienna, Austria – Unique and Amazing”
