The Bucket List – Movie about things to do before you “kick the bucket”

Bucket List - List

I love travel movies and try to watch one here and there. I have shared a few here on my blog like Under the Tuscan Sun and The Way. Today I am going to share one I enjoyed and recently watched again, The Bucket List with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. These two elderly characters, Billionaire Edward Cole and auto mechanic Carter Chambers meet while in the hospital being treated for lung cancer.   After hearing he has less than a year to live, Chambers started writing a list of activities to do before he “kicks the bucket.” Cole finds it the next morning and urges him to do everything on the list, adds his own items to it, and offers to finance all expenses. This is where the fun and travel part of the movie begins.

The Way – An Emotional Must See Travel Movie

The way - PilgrimRecently Gene and I finally had a chance to watch the movie The Way. I had heard it was very good, and we were not disappointed. Then again, I shouldn’t have been surprised. It was written and directed by Emilio Estevez, and starred his father Martin Sheen. Emilio also starred as Daniel, the recently deceased son of Martin Sheen’s character named Tom.

Italy Tours with Grand European Travel – AARP Senior Discounts

Italy 9As I am sitting here in cold Colorado I am staying warm by planning our next trips, lol. It has been TOO long since we were able to head to Europe thanks to the stupid China virus hidden by the selfish Chinese leader Xi. Anyway, that’s not what this is about, this is about hopefully being able to travel again now that the surges are becoming lower and some places are lifting restrictions.  I really want to go and explore more of Italy. We only saw a few things in Turino, like the Muse de Egizio, but I really want to explore several regions in Italy. Thus I was looking for tours in Italy and found the site Grand European Travel.

Which Countries Prefer Left Hand Drive Over Right Hand Drive? Why?

Left Hand Drive 1As we were getting ready to head to Germany in May of 2018 a co-worker and I were talking about driving on the Autobahn. This conversation somehow led us to talk about driving on the left side of the road versus driving on the right side of the road. Even though German drivers, as well as most of Europe, drive on the right also, it made me stop and think why some countries drive on the left. The only time I remember us driving on the left-hand side was when we were in England and Wales. It was quite an interesting experience, lol It also made me wonder how many countries actually do drive on the left. So I did a little research. The Prater in Vienna: Austria’s Playground for Everyone

Prater - SignIn May of 2018, we were extremely lucky to spend two weeks exploring a few cities in Europe. One of the cities we visited was Vienna in Austria.  We really enjoyed checking out the Wien Rathaus and the Danube. While there were made a point of checking out Prater Amusement Park. It is an incredible park and home of the iconic Giant Ferris Wheel. It is almost 65 meters tall and offers a breathtaking view of the city on the Danube. Sadly, we didn’t get to take the ride, more on that later, but it was fun watching it in motion and imagining the wonderful views. The Dachau Concentration Camp – Munich, Germany

Dachau - SignAs you may have seen over the last few weeks, we spent part of the month of May in Europe. One of the areas we stayed in the most was Munich, Germany. While there, we felt like we had to go and visit Dachau Concentration Camp. We had heard so much about it in history class, and in the media, but had to see what it was all about. Of course, we also planned a visit to Hofbrauhuas knowing we would probably need a happier evening, and something to clear the palette so to speak. We were definitely right on that assessment. Pilsner Urquell Brewery – Our Unique Brewery Tour

Pilsner Urquell - BuildingWe had an amazing time in the Czech Republic while in Europe in May of 2018.  For two weeks we ran around Austria, Germany as well as the Czech Republic. However, we really enjoyed our time in Prague (Praha) and I loved seeing the Charles Bridge and the Czechoslovak Hussite Church of Our Lady in Old Town. Sadly we were only there a couple of days and headed south to Germany. However, on our way south we made a detour and visited the city of Pilsner (Pilsen) to tour the Pilsner Urquell Brewery.

We have been on quite a few brewery tours, but this one was quite unique. Above is a Youtube video I made about our tour. Hope you enjoy some pictures that are not here in the post.
