As a Hyatt reward member, we have stayed at a few resorts in their brand, but had never stayed at a Hyatt House until last weekend. We had a phenomenal stay at one of their newer resorts, the Hyatt House, Downtown Seattle. We were in Seattle in February of 2017 to celebrate a belated Valentine’s day celebration, and it was a perfect location as it was literally across the street from the iconic Space Needle.
I had booked our room several months before but called to see if they worked with bloggers. I was pleased to find out that they happily upgraded us to a one-bedroom suite. It made a special occasion even more special. We also received a nice handwritten note welcoming us to the resort, as well as a bag of chocolates. It was a very nice start to our stay. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and welcoming. On a side note, I wanted to say that they greeted us by name throughout our visit, which made me feel even more welcome.
After we checked in, we made our way to our suite and made ourselves comfortable. The room was perfect and had a couch and TV in the living room. Out the window, we had a view of the TV station Komo and could see some of their offices. We turned on the TV to their channel as a joke to see how good the station came in, it came in fine 🙂
The bedroom was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. It was connected to the bathroom which was bigger than ours at home. I loved that it was a walk-in shower with a glass door that swiveled in and out. I am really short so it was impossible for me to adjust the showerhead if needed, but other than that I loved the bathroom.
Taking pictures of the suite was fun, and I enjoyed getting settled. A little later we decided to head downtown and do some shopping at Pike Place Market. I was very delighted to find out that the Hyatt House has a shuttle that will take guests to various locations within a mile of the hotel. That was great as Pike Place Market is within a mile. We shopped, grabbed some food and wine, and made an amazing dinner in our fully equipped kitchen. We found everything we needed and it worked out quite well. There is nothing better than fresh meat, fruit, and veggies.
The next morning, we enjoyed their great complimentary breakfast. Every day they had an omelet bar, but they mixed it up a little each day. The first morning they served scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, potatoes, fruit, bagels, pastries, and oatmeal. There was a lot more but I can’t remember it all. The second day they had French toast and bacon, as well as the stuff from the previous day. There was a lot more but I can’t remember. After breakfast the first day we checked out a few hotel amenities and a few things to do closer to the hotel.
As far as the hotel goes, they have a bar called the H Bar which is where we had a few drinks later that evening. They have ½ price drinks during happy hour which is from 4-7 if I remember correctly. They also have a 24 fitness center guest can take advantage of while staying at the Hyatt House. In case you need to work off those drinks from the night before, lol. There are a few other amenities such as a dry cleaning service, a 24-hour H-market, a grocery service, and a fully equipped business center.
However, the thing I enjoyed the most was the view from the rooftop of the hotel. It is open until 10 pm and has amazing views of the Space Needle. It rained most of the time we were there, so we didn’t get too many great pictures. However, even with the rain, it was beautiful up there. They also have a couple of grills which we would have taken advantage of if it was winter and raining, lol. Maybe next time.
As I said earlier, there is a shuttle that takes you to various locations within the city, so there really isn’t much you can’t see or do in downtown Seattle. We visited many places, and they were very accommodating in picking us up wherever we were within that mile radius. It was never a long wait either. I’ve stayed at other hotels where you have to wait sometimes an hour for a shuttle to take you somewhere or pick you up. The shuttle service at the Hyatt House was incredible. I did want to say that if you wanted to grab a quick fast food meal, Mcdonald’s is right across the street, lol.
Overall, the hospitality and service of the staff at the Hyatt House helped us have one of the best visits we’ve ever experienced while visiting the city often known as “Emerald City”. Between the staff and the complimentary shuttle, we will definitely be booking here again on our next visit to Seattle. Thank you for an incredible and relaxing 3-day weekend. Below is some basic information about the hotel, but you can also check out their website. Happy travels.
