Hyatt Resorts – Hyatt Regency in Denver, CO

Hyatt Regency - FrontA few years ago we joined the Hyatt Reward program, and this year we decided to use some of our free nights. We also stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Denver while celebrating New Year’s Eve.  In actuality, we have stayed at three different properties since we joined their program and found each one wonderful and quite unique. Hope you enjoy learning more about each of these hotels in the coming weeks. I am starting this series with our latest stay at the Hyatt Regency in Denver.

Hyatt Regency - LobbyOur stay at the Hyatt Regency Convention Center in Downtown Denver was a while ago but it was memorable as it was over Valentine’s Day weekend 2016. It was so fun to be a tourist in our own town.  We were able to take local transit and explore the downtown area in a way that we have never done. The hotel was incredible and we really enjoyed our stay. It contains 37 floors and boasts 1,100 newly renovated hotel guestrooms including 60 suites. Would love to stay in a suite one time.  We saw pictures and they looked really nice.

Hyatt Regency - UsWhen we walked in we were greeted immediately by friendly reservation agents who checked us in, gave us directions to our room, and made sure we had everything we needed. I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful lobby, the waterfall, and the cozy little couches.  It is a great place to relax while drinking a glass of wine and just catching up.

Hyatt Regency - RoomWe eventually made it to our room on the 31st floor, dropped our bags down, and checked out the spectacular view.  It was amazing, but the best part was the view of Mile High Stadium right in front of us! Peyton Manning and the Broncos had just won Superbowl 50, and Denver was still in a very celebratory mood. It was a great way to begin our weekend!

Hyatt Regency - Bronco StadiumAfter we got settled a bit, we checked out the little book in the room that told us about all the hotel their amenities, and things to do in the local area. Of course, we live in Denver, but it seemed very helpful for those out-of-town guests either on business or just enjoying Denver.  In the lobby, besides the  FedEx Office and an Enterprise Rental Car desk, there is the Altitude Restaurant, Strata Bar, and Perks Coffee. Thought that was really cool to be able to grab a Starbucks on your way out to a meeting if you were here on business. We had thought about going to the Altitude Restaurant for breakfast or dinner but never did make it. Instead, we ended up eating at a few places on the mall and finally made it to Sam’s 3.

Hyatt Regency - BarWhat we thought was really cool was the 24-Hour StayFit gym with an indoor heated pool and outdoor hot tub. We definitely took advantage of these during our stay. One thing we didn’t take advantage of was their Spa Universaire. It would have been nice, and I may look into it for another stay. It was so nice to be sitting out in a 100+ degree hot tub when it’s only 40 or so degrees. So nice. Definitely want to do that again sometime.

Hyatt Regency - Peaks LoungeThe other thing we did really enjoy on our visit was the breathtaking view from Peaks Lounge on the 27th floor. It was the most incredible little bar facing the majestic Rockies. We set there a couple of times and had a few drinks. I really enjoined their Riesling. It is definitely something you should check out if you stay at the Hyatt Regency.

Hyatt Regency - DowntownWe had a great time during our stay at the Hyatt Regency in Denver, and would highly recommend it for your out-of-town guests, or colleagues here on business.  They were professional, the room was very clean, and we felt very welcomed. After staying at three different locations recently, I am quite impressed with the Hyatt Brand of hotels. Here is a link to their website with more information.
