Phoenix Zoo Lights – An Annual Tradition in Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix Zoo Lights - Sign

Last year we were in Phoenix on Christmas and Gene and I went to the Phoenix Zoo Zoo Lights with my best friend’s sister and brother’s families. It was something I had never done even here in Colorado so I was so excited to experience it with my extended family.

Phoenix, Arizona – Free Things to do in the Valley of the Sun

Phoenix 1In February 2019 I spent a few days in Phoenix Arizona to attend a few spring training games. While preparing for my trip, I did some research and shared some of the best attractions in Phoenix. While I was thrilled to be able to see several museums such as the Arizona Science Center, Heard Museum, and the Phoenix Art Museum, I was also trying to stay on a budget. With that in mind, I was also looking for some free things to do. Luckily I have found quite a few free things to do in Phoenix. Some of the activities or attractions are inside and some are outside. Obviously, the group you are with, and the time of year will play a factor in what you can see and do. Continue reading “Phoenix, Arizona – Free Things to do in the Valley of the Sun”

Best Phoenix Attractions in the Phoenix, Arizona Metro Area

A few years ago I was heading to Phoenix AZ for spring training games.   While this wasn’t my first trip to Arizona, I haven’t spent a lot of time there. Therefore on this trip, I wanted to check out the top things to see in Phoenix Arizona (besides spring training of course). I had a great time researching and came up with a guide of the best attractions in Phoenix Arizona. Continue reading “Best Phoenix Attractions in the Phoenix, Arizona Metro Area”

Open Air Market – Phoenix Public Market in Arizona

Open Air Market - 1In March of 2017, my niece Alex and I spent a few days together in Phoenix. We enjoyed visiting the OdySea Aquarium and checking out some of South Mountain Park. We also enjoyed a great meal at Comedor Guadalajara. However, our trip wouldn’t have been complete without a visit to the Phoenix Public Market – aka the Open Air Market. OdySea Aquarium – An Oceanic Adventure in Phoenix, Arizona

OdySea Aquarium FrontMy niece Alex and I had an incredible time in the Phoenix area in March of 2017. We had a great time running around South Mountain Park and the Open Air Farmers Market, but we especially enjoyed our visit to the OdySea Aquarium in Scottsdale. It is wonderful and full of wonder. 🙂  The last aquarium I had been to was the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, many years ago, so I was really looking forward to our visit.  Since neither of us had been here, I did a little research on their website before we left. I found out that they had only been open since September 3, 2016, and was I was excited when I read about all their exhibits. South Mountain Park – Majestic Phoenix Arizona in the Distance

South Mountain Park - 1I am happy to share that in had an incredible time exploring the unique Phoenix area with my niece Alex. It was early March of 2017 and our first trip together.  We had such a blast doing such things as the OdySea Aquarium, and the Open Air Market, that we planned another trip together next year, lol.  Sadly that hasn’t worked out, but hopefully, we can again soon.  Anyway, while in the Phoenix area we were able to visit beautiful South Mountain Park. Apparently, it is the largest municipal park in the United States and is one of the largest urban parks in North America. It has been designated as a Phoenix Point of Pride. Heard Museum – American Indian Art and Artifacts

Heard Museum - 1In February of 2019, I was in Phoenix, Arizona to watch my Angels in some spring training games at Tempe Diablo Stadium and Salt River Field. While that was the main reason for my visit, I was also looking forward to visiting a few local attractions. One such place was the Heard Museum. When I first discovered the Heard Museum, I thought it sounded quite interesting. I was intrigued and was looking forward to learning more about American Indian Art and American Indian people. I was not disappointed. Continue reading “Heard Museum – American Indian Art and Artifacts”

In February of 2019, I spent a wonderful week in Phoenix, Arizona.  I was so happy to be able to check out the Heard Museum and the Arizona Science Center. Both were fun, but my main reason for visiting Arizona was to check some spring training games.  This was my first year being able to check out some of the stadiums since I quit my 9-5 job.  As a long-time Angels fan, I couldn’t wait to visit their spring training field, Tempe Diablo Stadium. It had been something I had wanted to do ever since I learned what spring training games were, lol.
