Japanese Tea Garden 1Last year, Gene and I spent Christmas and New Years in San Antonio, Texas. One day after spending a few hours at the  Alamo and River Walk, we decided to check out the Japanese Tea Garden. The Japanese Tea Gardens also knowns as Sunken Gardens is located on the northwestern edge of Brackenridge Park and was originally a limestone rock quarry. Wichita, Kansas – Fun Things to do in the Heart of the Country

WichitaWe are heading to Wichita, Kansas right now as I am sharing this post! Yeah, I know, not the first thing on people’s mind when they think of where they want to travel, but we are taking a road trip and decided to check out this little city that we have mostly only breezed through while going east or coming home. With that said, I did some research and found some of the most exciting things to see and do in Wichita.  We are both looking forward to exploring a few of these while in the area for the long weekend. Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California – Remarkable Views

Hearst Castle - FrontWe have been through central California many times while we lived there doing wine tasting etc. However one of the more interesting things we did was in June of 2010 on our way home from visiting Alcatraz in San Francisco. While we were driving through the area, we decided to stop and finally take a tour of Hearst Castle. We had been through this area many times but had never taken the time to stop and visit. Heard Museum – American Indian Art and Artifacts

Heard Museum - 1In February of 2019, I was in Phoenix, Arizona to watch my Angels in some spring training games at Tempe Diablo Stadium and Salt River Field. While that was the main reason for my visit, I was also looking forward to visiting a few local attractions. One such place was the Heard Museum. When I first discovered the Heard Museum, I thought it sounded quite interesting. I was intrigued and was looking forward to learning more about American Indian Art and American Indian people.
