Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure – Juneau, Alaska

Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure - 1One of the fun and exciting things we got to do while in Juneau, Alaska was doing the Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure tour. We were there in July of 2020 and it was so peaceful as there weren’t many tourists yet due to the stupid China virus. But it was so amazing and we were able to see it in its true beauty.   Before I share our tour, I want to share a little about Garden Rainforest Adventure. Jensen-Olsen Arboretum – Juneau, Alaska

alaJensen-Olsen Arboretum 1During July of 2021, we were lucky enough to visit Juneau Alaska for a delayed anniversary trip. Alaska was such a beautiful and amazing experience. I really hope to go back one day and do some more exploring other parts of the state. Juneau was a great place to see on our first visit. One of the places that we really enjoyed seeing, besides Mendenhall Glacier was the Jensen-Olsen Arboretum. I am not sure what I was expecting to see, but it was beyond what I was expecting in so many ways. First a little history about the Jensen-Olsen Arboretum and where it is located.

Beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens – Hamilton, Ontario Canada

Royal Botanical Gardens - Front 1For my birthday in October of 2021, we spent a week in the Buffalo area and were thrilled to visit Niagara Falls. They are amazing and I was very happy to be able to finally see them in person. While in the area we were lucky enough to be able to head into Canada and see them from the Canadian side. Both sides are beautiful and so glad we decided to take our trip internationally and went to Canada. Since we were already in Canada, we decided to spend part of the day checking out waterfalls, Lake Ontario, and such in the city of Hamilton which. It is a little city about an hour away but sadly we weren’t able to do that because you had to have reservations (thanks to the sadist Chinese “leader”, NOT) but ended up visiting the beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington/Hamilton area. It was a very wonderful alternative and perfect day weather-wise to be strolling through their gardens.

Lauritzen Gardens – Omaha’s Botanical Center in Nebraska

Lauritzen Gardens 1While in the  Omaha, Nebraska area for an LWMS convention in June of 2019, we took a few extra days and explored Omaha. We had already been to Omaha a couple of times so we had wanted to do something different. Thus we ended up enjoying the beautiful flowers at Lauritzen Gardens. Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens – Florida

Ormand Memorial Art GardenAs I wrote this in June 2017 we were in Daytona but were getting ready to head south to Orlando. We had a great time exploring the area and doing some of the local activities, including the beach. 🙂  One of the places we visited was the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens.  We had been at The Casements and The Rockefeller Gardens earlier, and it was just a short walk from there. I am so glad we decided to visit. They were absolutely amazing, even if it was incredibly hot and muggy (it is a rainforest after all, lol). The highlights were all the amazing plants and animals we saw while walking around. Continue reading “Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens – Florida”

The Casements & Rockefeller Gardens – Ormond Beach, Florida

Casements FrontWe recently returned from a trip to the hot and humid state of Florida. It was June of 2017 and way too muggy for me, lol. Other than that, we had a really nice time, especially in the Daytona area. One day while in Ormond Beach checking out the Ormond Memorial Art and Gardens, we were able to do a tour of The Casements and Gardens. Sadly I admit that I had not heard of this place until doing research for our trip, however, I am so glad we visited it while in the area in June of 2017. Boston Public Garden and Park – Boston Massachusetts

Boston Public Garden - 1In September of 2017, while working in the Boston area, I was able to explore a few areas such as the Long Wharf Pier and Harbor. Another place I really enjoyed visiting for a few hours was the Boston Public Garden. My intention was to make a quick tour through the park, then head over to the Boston Commons. However, this didn’t happen for a few reasons: First I was running out of daylight. Secondly, it is a very large garden. But mostly, it was because it is such an amazing park. McNutt Sculpture Garden and Outdoor Sculptures – San Antonio, Texas

McNutt Sculpture Garden-SignWe spent President’s Day weekend 2018 in San Antonio, Texas and had a great time. We stayed at a place off the new part of the Riverwalk which was nice and less busy.  Luckily it was still close to everything we wanted to see and do. While walking around we ended up at the Briscoe Western Art Museum. We enjoyed strolling through their amazing bronze sculptures in the McNutt Sculpture Garden. Missouri Botanical Garden – This Needs to Be on Your To-Do List

Missouri-Botanical-Garden-15Last summer we had a great time in St. Louis visiting family and friends. One thing that wasn’t originally on our to-do list was the Missouri Botanical Garden. However, after I read that it was the second largest garden in North America, behind only that of the New York Botanical Garden, we decided to visit. So glad we did. I took so many pictures that I couldn’t possibly share on here, thus I created a short 2 min video below with some of the pictures we took during our visit.  Continue reading “Missouri Botanical Garden – This Needs to Be on Your To-Do List”
