We had a great time in the upper Peninsula of Michigan in May of 2021 celebrating our anniversary, We saw the beautiful Mackinaw Bridge and saw two lighthouses, White Point and Mc Gulpin. We had a great time seeing these local attractions, but how can you be in the Upper Penisula (UP) and not go to Mackinac Island? Happily, we set aside a day to explore this beautiful little island and I want to share some of it with you all today. Continue reading “Mackinac Island, Michigan – “The Big Turtle””
The free 24-hour Staten Island Ferry is considered by many New Yorkers as a lifeline for making their way from NYC’s southernmost borough, but it also has some of the finest views in the world. From the ferry, you can see the Governors Island to the east and Ellis Island and Lady Liberty to the west, as the Manhattan skyline recedes in the vessel’s wake. Sounds like something that is definitely worth the price of admission, lol
While planning our trip to New York for October of 2015, I was trying to find some cheaper things to see and do since NYC can be very expensive. With this in mind, I decided to look up some free Manhattan activities and events. Surprisingly I found quite a bit, but decided to only list the top ten things we are going to try to do depending on time. Enjoy, and let me know if you have a favorite. I love sharing stories and pictures from our travels. It helps remind me the feelings I felt while there, and I get to share our experience with other travelers or those wanting to travel. One such place I enjoyed Christmas in 2018 was visiting the M&M’s World Store in Times Square. We had been in the area on a previous trip but never made it into the store. We were too busy visiting the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty, lol. So glad we did on our last trip. It was fantastic and so exciting to share our visit on my blog.
