On my first trip to Chicago by myself in September 2008 to see the Anaheim Angels play the White Sox and do a tour of Wrigley Field, I played around a little before and after work. One afternoon I was able to do the Shoreline Architecture River cruise in Downtown Chicago. Tours depart from two docks, one at Michigan Avenue and the other at Navy Pier. Living in southern California for most of my life, I have spent a few weekends in Avalon, Catalina. It’s only a short 1-hour boat ride from Long Beach, but it seems like a world away. I love that it is so small and everyone gets around on golf carts. It definitely seems like a less stressful life than living in other parts of southern CA. Either way, it is a great place to relax and enjoy some free time.
