Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois – Home of the Chicago Cubs

Cubs LogoVisiting Wrigley Field is something that had been on my to-do list for a long time. I am an Anaheim Angels fan, but have been curious about the Cubs and Wrigley Field since they picked up Ron Cey from the Dodgers in 1982. Thus, I was excited to finally be able to tour the 2nd oldest MLB ballpark while in Chicago in September of 2008. Continue reading “Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois – Home of the Chicago Cubs”

Minute Maid Park, Texas – Home of the Houston Astros

Minute Maid Park - FrontOriginally named The Ballpark at Union Station, Enron Field, and Astros Field,  Minute Maid Park opened in 2000 and is Houston’s first retractable-roofed stadium. The largest entrance to the park is inside what was once Houston’s Union Station, and the left-field side of the stadium features a railway as an homage to the site’s history. The train moves along a track on top of the length of the exterior wall beyond left field whenever an Astros player hits a home run and/or the Astros win a game. It was so cool to see while in the area in November of 2010. I’ve seen it many times on TV but so cool to see it in person. Continue reading “Minute Maid Park, Texas – Home of the Houston Astros”

Safeco Field and Home to The Seattle Mariners – Seattle, Washington

Safeco-FrontWhile in Seattle to see the Microsoft Visitor Center, Boeing, Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, and a few other attractions, we also visiteded Safeco Field to watch my Anaheim Angels take on the Settle Mariners. We had a great time and the Seattle Mariners employees and fans were great hosts. As a side note, I was very happy to visit the stadium as it represented my 18th ballpark and it was the last one I hadn’t seen west of the Mississippi. Getting closer to my goal of visiting all 30 parks!  Anyway, below is a little information about Safeco Field and the Seattle Mariners. On a side note, our trip was in May of 2016 and it was called Safeco Field. Since then the stadium has been changed names to T-Mobile Park. However, for the sake of this post, I am going to continue calling it Safeco Field since that was the name when we visited. Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California – Where Magic Lives

Angels Stadium - 4For those of you who don’t know me personally, I am a huge sports fan! Baseball is my passion and the Anaheim Angels are my favorite team. I have to get something out of the way right here, and state that I WILL NEVER refer to them as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim or Los Angeles Angels, or whatever they want to call them. They are the Anaheim Angels unless they move to another city.  They are in Anaheim, not Los Angeles, and should not have had it added to their name. The city of Los Angeles has another team, you can watch them if you want to watch a baseball team in LA. Anyway, I am done with my rant and off my soapbox, lol. As an Angels fan, my favorite stadium is Angels Stadium in Anaheim. Continue reading “Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California – Where Magic Lives”

Tempe Diablo Stadium – Angels Spring Training Field

tempe-diablo-stadium-front

In February of 2019, I spent a wonderful week in Phoenix, Arizona.  I was so happy to be able to check out the Heard Museum and the Arizona Science Center. Both were fun, but my main reason for visiting Arizona was to check some spring training games.  This was my first year being able to check out some of the stadiums since I quit my 9-5 job.  As a long-time Angels fan, I couldn’t wait to visit their spring training field, Tempe Diablo Stadium. It had been something I had wanted to do ever since I learned what spring training games were, lol.
