Coney Island, New York – Playground of the World

Gene and I were just in NYC last month and had an amazing time. We were able to see and do some of the things that we hadn’t been able to on previous trips, including a tour of Yankee Stadium as well as a game at Citi Field. However, another thing that was high on our list to do was to check out Coney Island. It has always been fall or winter when we had been there, and it was just a little too cold to spend the day running around Coney Island. However, May was a perfect time to visit for a couple of reasons. First, it was scorching, which is extremely important for me as I am NOT a heat person. Secondly there usually aren’t a lot of people and tourists there yet. We also quickly learned that the rides and such weren’t open for the season yet (the park opened the following weekend 🙁 ) which also cut down on the would-be traffic.

The Prater in Vienna: Austria’s Playground for Everyone

Prater - SignIn May of 2018, we were extremely lucky to spend two weeks exploring a few cities in Europe. One of the cities we visited was Vienna in Austria.  We really enjoyed checking out the Wien Rathaus and the Danube. While there were made a point of checking out Prater Amusement Park. It is an incredible park and home of the iconic Giant Ferris Wheel. It is almost 65 meters tall and offers a breathtaking view of the city on the Danube. Sadly, we didn’t get to take the ride, more on that later, but it was fun watching it in motion and imagining the wonderful views. Merry Christmas from Magical Knott’s Merry Farm – California

Merry-Farm-SignThere are a few things I miss about living in California (besides my family and friends of course) walking along the Seal Beach Pier, watching my Angels, and going to my favorite amusement park Knott’s Berry Farm. It has always had a pull on me, and I still love it. I miss being able to go to such things as Knott’s Scary Farm in October. However, the thing I really miss is Knott’s Merry Farm in December.  It has been too many years since we have done this.
