In October of 2020 Gene and I was able to finally visit Memphis Tennessee on a birthday road trip. We had a blast and had a whole list of things we wanted to see and do. Of course, we never have time to do everything on one trip. Added to that, we met with friends who live in a different part of Tennessee and they had a list of their own, lol. With that in mind, I decided to create a list of some of the most exciting things to see and do in Memphis so you can plan your next trip. These are not in any particular order. Except Graceland is first as I grew up loving Elvis and couldn’t wait to visit his home.
While in Memphis in October of 2020 we were lucky enough to visit a few places related to Elvis Presley such as Graceland and Sun Studio. While doing research for our trip I found a deal from a combo ticket package that included those attractions as well as the Memphis Rock n Soul Museum. Memphis is all about music so I was so happy and looking forward to visiting this museum while in the area. I wasn’t sure what to expect and was quite surprised during our visit.
The holidays are upon us and I have to say, I LOVE CHRISTMAS! I love the lights, the music, the food, and especially the meaning of Christmas. They are always exciting, but Christmas of 2018 was especially epic. We were happy to be able to experience the NYC Christmas season in mid-December! We couldn’t wait to see the lights, trees, window decorations, and everything NYC is known for during Christmas. I was not disappointed. It was more than I thought it would be. The tree at Rockefeller Center is something you HAVE to make sure to see while in the area. Continue reading “NYC Christmas Videos – Top Things To Do in NYC at Christmas”
Experiencing the Taste of Colorado had been on our list of things to do since we moved here to Colorado. Happily, we can now say that we finally made it to the annual celebration for the first time in 2015! I had seen pictures and heard stories about the Taste of Colorado, but it was great to finally experience it firsthand. We had a great time. While preparing for our trip to Arkansas and Tennessee in October of 2020, there were a lot of things I wanted to see and do on our list. One of the main things I wanted to see in Tennessee, besides Graceland, was Sun Studio. As an Elvis fan, it has always been something I have heard about and wanted to see one day. I didn’t know much about it, except that it was the studio where Elvis was discovered. I learned a lot more during our tour.
No trip to New Orleans is complete without a visit to Jackson Square in the French Quarter. Thus we made sure to check it out while in the area, December 2017. The square was designed after the famous 17th-century Place des Vosges in Paris, France, by the architect and landscape architect Louis H. Pilié. and is roughly the size of a city block. Though it may be small in size, it is huge in history. Continue reading “Jackson Square in the French Quarter – New Orleans, Louisiana”
