White Water Rafting – Six White Water Rivers to Paddle this Summer!

White Water RaftingI have always loved the water but forgot how much until I was working on my Beach, Mountains, or Best of Both Worlds post. It made me stop, reflect, and acknowledge that it has been too long since I hit the beach or a stream. It also saddened me to realize that I have never been White Water Rafting. That is unless you count the Big Foot Rapids ride at Knott’s Berry Farm, which I don’t. lol It was fun and all, but I would love to experience the real thing one day. With that in mind, I did some research and found 6 rivers that I would love to explore via rafting.  I am going to start with the Salmon River in Idaho. The Maryland State House in Annapolis – The Old Line State

Maryland State House - FrontIn August of 2009, we found ourselves in Maryland and were able to catch a couple of games at Camden Yards, visit Fort McHenry, as well as tour the Maryland State Capitol. More formally known as the Maryland State House. Whatever they call it, I call it beautiful. Not only was the architecture of the Capitol beautiful, but the grounds were also amazing. Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Maryland – Home to the Baltimore Orioles

Oriole Park - Orioles LogoAwhile back I did a post about Angels Stadium and the Anaheim Angels. In that post I stated I was going to do a post about some of the other ballparks I have been to and talk about the home team. While originally writing this, the Angels were playing the Baltimore Orioles, thus I decided to share my visit to their home park called Oriole Park of Camden Yards. On a side note, the Angels took the series!!! (sorry Orioles fans) Continue reading “Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Maryland – Home to the Baltimore Orioles”

We have traveled a lot throughout the US and have actually been to 41 of the 50 States. Thus I decided to share some information about each state as well as the state road sign. If we didn’t get to a state sign yet (or forgot to get one while we were there), I have posted another picture of a state sign and will replace it once we have pictures. In the meantime, please enjoy the information on the states from Hawaii-Maryland.  FYI, these are in alphabetical order.

O Say Can You See Fort McHenry? – Baltimore, MD

Fort-McHenry-Sign

A “quick” visit to Fort McHenry National Monument near Baltimore, Maryland turned out to be an experience that touched my heart in a profound way. It made me feel extremely patriotic, happy and proud to be an American! I was never much of a history fan in school, but since we have been traveling I have a great appreciation and a desire to see and learn more. Therefore I went along with Gene because he likes forts and it was a free day, August 2009, so I thought why not? I am so glad I did.
